Not Nearly As 'S Wonderful

It's here! I'm half excited, half angry.

I ordered the soundtrack to the musical Funny Face back in August. In August I received an email from Chapters Indigo telling me my order had been successfully placed and the cd would be shipped to me in two weeks. I thought they meant I would get the cd within the two weeks of ordering it. What they really meant was, it will take two weeks to ship once it leaves our warehouse. Now I've finally got the cd and it is definitely not August anymore and I'm a little pissed. Not only is it late, but the cd cover isn't what I was promised in the picture. I was promised the outline of Audrey's funny face in pink and what I got was an orange cover. Upon opening the cd I expected to find pictures from the movie and maybe the lyrics in the insert, at the very least the song listings. Instead I found advertisements for other movie soundtracks. Now I have Johny Rotten's voice in my head asking me "Ever feel like you've been cheated?" I mean the whole point of buying a CD as opposed to a mp3 is so you can have a more personal connection with the music. There is nothing extra for me to connnect with. Plus the sound quality is really crappy. Here have a listen:

I don't think I would have felt nearly as cheated if I had gotten the soundtrack five months ago when I had ordered it. I was completely obsessed with the movie back then and would have overlooked its shortcomings. I would have been too busy leaping around the house like Audrey Hepburn singing 'S Wonderful to care. Now however I'm out of the obsession and a little disenchanted with the whole thing.
